An invitation to writers

Your words.
A place to be read.

The Draftmere Collection celebrates writers, their stories and the art of creative writing. We welcome work created anywhere.

What we’re reading

Short and flash fiction, poetry, creative prose, literary reflections, novel excerpts and writer spotlights. Send a complete piece or a self-contained excerpt of up to 6,000 words.

Previously published work is welcome when you hold the necessary republication rights. Credit its original publication in your submission.

How to submit

  1. Sign in with a confirmed account. A Free account is enough; submitting uses no AI credits.
  2. Add your piece, the name or pen name to credit, and an optional biography and links.
  3. Preview the reading page, confirm your rights and publication permission, and submit.
  4. Follow its progress and any editorial feedback in My submissions.

You can have five submissions under consideration at a time. Drafts remain private. There is no fee, purchase requirement or preference for paid accounts.

Editorial consideration

Every piece is reviewed before publication. We may request a revision, accept it, or decline it. Selection is editorial and submission does not guarantee publication. We do not promise a response date.

Your writing is yours to revise. Editors cannot silently rewrite the text you submitted. A revision is reviewed as a new version before it can be accepted.

Your rights and permission

You retain copyright. By submitting, you confirm that you are the author or have authority to submit the piece, and that you hold the rights needed for publication.

You grant Spell Shield Pty Ltd, operating Draftmere, non-exclusive permission to host, display and share the submitted version, its approved attribution, biography and links in the Draftmere Collection. This does not transfer ownership or grant permission to train AI models on your submission.

You can withdraw a submission from My submissions. Withdrawing a published piece removes it from the Collection. Links shared elsewhere, third-party caches and search listings may take time to update.

Published content is public. Include only the name, biography and links you want readers to see. Your account email is not automatically published.

Before you send it

Check the preview, poetry spacing, attribution and links. Submit work you have permission to share, respect other people’s privacy, and contact the editors about any rights or attribution concern.
